Publication ethics and malpractice statement
Ethics and responsibility
Revista Confluencia is committed to the integrity of the content it publishes through the use of the ‘Turnitin’ plagiarism detector for all articles submitted. In this way, the Editorial Team intends to protect the processes of the Journal against bad publishing practices.
The publication process has different stages, which begin with the preliminary review process by the Editor of the Journal, who evaluates the Publication Requirements and the review of compliance with the Journal's Standards. Subsequently, the article is subjected to the evaluation of peer reviewers, with a double-blind system. If a reviewer discovers the identity of the author through any means (such as identifying a previous paper or reading a paper presented at a conference), suspects that the paper is duplicating the work of other authors, suspects that there may be problems with research ethics, or suspects that there may be an undeclared conflict of interest in the manuscript, they should contact the Journal Editor immediately.
Conflict of interest
Revista Confluencia requires the declaration of conflict of interest of authors and reviewers in blind, which is done in the submission of the manuscript and in the acceptance of blind review. For authors, where applicable, the sources of financial support for the study must be disclosed.
Revista Confluencia will not consider manuscripts that have a conflict of interest as a result of competitive, collaborative or any other type of relationship or connection with the institutions related to the document.
Originality and plagiarism
Revista Confluencia requires its authors to ensure that the content of the manuscript is original and has not been copied, falsified or inappropriately manipulated. Otherwise, it constitutes serious ethical misconduct and is considered scientific fraud.
Authors should not submit a manuscript to two or more journals at the same time. They may only submit it to another journal, once they have been notified that it has been rejected or when the authors have voluntarily withdrawn their publication from the journal.
It is permissible for part of an article to have been previously published as a report, short communication or abstract of a symposium, congress or conference, which requires citing the previous source in which it was published.
Identifying and preventing malpractice
When identifying malpractice, the Journal will analyse the situation with all the necessary background information. In doing so, COPE recommendations will be considered and the authors involved will be contacted for resolution of each case.
The Editorial Team will decide to withdraw the manuscript under review or published, if malpractice is detected, informing the author of the reasons for this.
