Abstract

When we think of a sustainable construction project, the first thing that comes to our mind are the concepts of efficiency and energy optimization, efficient water use and quality of the interior environment. Little by little, we are internalizing the fact that each intervention—whether it is a building, a house, fitting for use, or an urbanization—must be respectful of the natural environment and built thinking about its entire life cycle. The various strategies, assessments and decisions have to be discussed and analyzed from the onset so that the project can meet the objectives as well as the deadlines and costs set forth without sacrificing quality. Basically, any project that seeks to be aligned with the three pillars of sustainability (environmental, economic, and social) must pursue the efficient use of energy and water resources, and raw materials, while ensuring the welfare and health of the
workers and users, maintaining the profitability of the project.
