Abstract

There is a valuable heritage of design made in Chile that is being lost because there is no institution, public or private, protecting it. Some work has been saved as posters of the Larrea brothers in the Catholic University, and some furniture of Garretón manufactured in Singal. But, what about the graphic design of diseñadores asociados, Hergar editions, Berthelon, Guillermo Tejeda, Waldo González and, further back, Mauricio Amster, and Fauré? And the industrial design of Capdevila, Walker and Weiss. Is it too late to recue them? On that we want to raise the alarm, once again: the bad management of our national heritage.
