Medidas de prevencion y deteccion de VIH en poblacion joven LGBT

Introducción: A nivel global existen aproximadamente 36,9 millones de personas que viven con VIH y 1,9 millones son nuevos casos anuales. Alrededor de 34% de estos corresponden a adolescentes entre 14 a 24 años. Gay, bisexuales y otros hombres que tienen sexo con hombres, continúan siendo un grupo de alto riesgo para contraer VIH. Objetivo: Indagar sobre las medidas de prevención y detección de VIH en la población joven LGBT, por medio de la identificación de barreras de acceso, intervenciones efectivas y la identificación de medidas de prevención y detección efectivas de VIH en medios de comunicación masiva para población joven LGBT. Metodología: Este estudio corresponde a una revisión bibliográfica mediante la búsqueda de datos en Pubmed, en inglés y español con 10 años de antigüedad. Resultado: Las barreras de acceso a prevención de VIH se relacionan con la discriminación. Las barreras de detección se relacionan con factores socioeconómicos, culturales y de educación. Sesiones individuales/grupales, y las campañas por medios masivos de comunicación evidenciaron aumento de actitudes protectoras y disminución conductas de riesgo. Discusión: Los resultados se correlacionan con las estrategias mundiales de prevención de VIH en pacientes jóvenes LGBT. Se evidencia la importancia de trabajar en conjunto con la población LGBT para explorar el desarrollo de la identidad sexual y los desafíos de la sociedad. Conclusión: Dado el mayor riesgo que tiene la población LGBT de contraer VIH, es una población clave para desarrollar estrategias/intervenciones de prevención y detección precoz de VIH.
